So there we were, sitting in the basement of my cousin's home in St. Catherines at a well looked forward to meeting for the year of service youth. They had just pulled out a map of Ontario, placing little round stickers on the small rural towns that would soon become our homes. Many emotions filled the room; excitement, joy, anxiety and curiosity were just a few. As the coordinators slowly moved up the map, Bahiyyih and I became more anxious. The map was flipped over to reveal the rest of Ontario, or as we like to call it, 'The North'. North Bay, Sudbury and Thunderbay were called out, yet Bahiyyih and I still hadn't been assigned a post, but alas, Timmins was announced... 'Tahireh and Bahiyyih will be moving to Timmins'. And that's how this love story began.
